Tile Selection - Minor Drama

A week or so ago we were told by DiLorenzo that they had received the paperwork from Metricon and asked us to come and select our tiles. It should have been an easy task as we already did our homework in September last year (see this post).

We had a small drama as we were told that the floor tile we chose for the ensuite was discontinued! Without a sample we couldn't quickly decide on an alternative. We will have to come back.

There is a new range of tiles on display, so hopefully we will find something similar. We changed our mind for the feature tile of the main bathroom's wall niche. We were going to use this one:

We found another interesting tile that would add a bit of variety to the pattern:

While our DA was stuck in council we added a bath in the ensuite, relocating the shower. We decided to use the same large (and expensive) tile for the bath hob as for the wall niche. This is the one (the colour might not be accurate on the photo):
This is a large tile: 320 x 960 mm. If I remember correctly we were told in September it cost $200 per tile, not including labour!

I have made some rendering of my 3D model to get an idea of how it may look. Here are the pictures:

Btw...I know how you feel about the tiles being expensive from Di Lorenzo...Im still recovering from shock with our quotation!

  2. Hi Tonia,

We made our selection with our colour consultant, Robyn Hawke. She was of great help. We can't wait to see the final result but that would be in a few months...
