An update on my previous post about the bricks:
We went to Metricon StudioM to compare our sample brick with theirs. We are reassured: they match. I also confirmed with our SS that the right bricks have been delivered. Although bricks can vary in colour (as this is a natural product) the apparent difference is likely due to the fact we are not looking at a finished wall. The mortar will certainly change the perception of overall colour. Wait and see...
According to our SS the brickies are busy finishing another job. They should start on our house by the end of the week.
