Walk around the house

Today I met with our Site Supervisor, John, a the house. He told me that typically site supervisors manage 15 house. He currently oversees 27 houses! This gives him very little time to spent on site. He goes and see the house every day for 5 minutes or so.

There were no tradies on site today. The balcony has been added, which means the frame is now fully completed. Plumbing has been done and the windows are installed.

We should have our bricks delivered end of this week and bricking should start mid next week.

I asked John why there was a pipe going out of the ground on the front right of the garage (not shown on the plans). That's for the grated drain which we will have to put in after handover. We did not ask for that though, but it is a nice addition.

I went inside the house to see for the first time how it may look. I was most interested in checking out the view out of the master bed room and verifying our "custom feature niche" on the first floor was built correctly. That niche took a few iterations to be drawn on plan correctly so I was afraid some more mistake may happen. Luckily the work they have done looks all good!

But enough words! Let's have a walk around in images:

Here we are: the balcony is built and we have all our windows installed.
Looking at the back (West side) - master bedroom on top.
Looking at the side behind the garage. The windows are for one of the children bedroom, the bathroom (louvre window) and toilet.

The hallway. The staircase will come where the ladder is.
The living areas, looking from the dining room. The kitchen will be installed on the left side.
Looking towards the outdoor room and the backyard, from the kitchen.
Going up. The feature niche (left) looks correct.
View from the balcony (this will be the guest room)
View from the side bedroom
Another view from the side bedroom. The swimming pool will go down there (if we still have some cash around after the build!)
View from the master bedroom. We can see the Blue Mountain, and there won't be any obstruction (the house behind ours will be a single storey).

Louvre windows:
We upgraded for louvre windows in the bathrooms. These ones are designed to fit a fly-screen on the external side. I wonder how will this been done (after handover). We will need a big ladder to do that job!

Ensuite's window. The colour of the frame is Interpon Pottery Satin (an upgrade but it will look great with our other colours selection)
