We are officially "at construction"

This is it! After checking the final construction drawings we signed them off for acceptance, putting an end to the administrative phase of the build.

All issues spotted earlier have been corrected. They made a new change to the drawings: the height of our shower recesses went from 300mm to 350mm. This is because the dimensions on the plan are "from frame". So after adding plaster, waterproofing and tiles, the recesses will actually be about 300-310mm height (as stated in our contract).

Reading other people's blogs this is what we might expect to see in the coming months:
  • February: peg out, excavation, piering and slab
  • March: frame, plumbing, windows
  • April: bricking
  • May: gutters, main roof, brick cleaning
  • June: cladding, garage & outdoor room roofs, electricals, doors & windows, gyprock, waterproofing
  • July: cornices & skirting, cupboards, painting, wet area tiling
  • August: garage door, pci
  • September: handover
In my next post I hope to show some photos of our land with pegs!
