Tiling is not yet complete though. There are still some work to be done but it is looking good, except perhaps in the laundry. We had chosen to tile the laundry splashback vertically using the same tiles and orientation as in the adjacent powder room. Seeing the result I am not sure it was that a good idea.
There are many other things that happened since my last post:
- The kitchen under-mount sinks are installed. We will also have an integrated drainage (yet to be done).
- The front window has been fixed (it was missing a vertical bar making the window look like it is a two-panel window).
- The baths have been delivered and were in the process of being installed (plumbers doing pre-work in the bathrooms).
- Toilet suites being installed.
- Painting completed except for some patch work.
- External walls all washed and cleaned.
Now for the drama. Looking at the photos I made today I see the garden tap behind our garage has been fitted. The big issue is that it is a purple tap with a "do not drink" sign, meaning it is a recycled water tap. Our recycled water tap is supposed to be on the other side of the house! We made it clear in our building contract that the tap behind the garage must be a drinking water tap as it will be used to fill the swimming pool (which we may install in the future).
I don't know how this can be fixed but has to (it is specified in our contract and on the construction drawings). It will be interesting to see how our SS will deal with the situation...
Enough words! Here are the photos:
Rear side of the house - bricks all cleaned!
The rear wall of the garage should have a potable water tap but it is fitted with a recycled water tap
Laundry door painted in Dulux Linseed.
Front window fixed with a decorative divider bar (glued on the glass panel)
Bathtubs waiting to be installed
Top of stair case with the timber finishes stained
Double vanity in the ensuite. We did not use the square basin included in our promotion pack here as they are relatively small. These are the standard oval basins.

Laundry splash-back. Not sure the vertical orientation looks good. It may be different once the grout will be put.

The laundry tile will look great, once grouted in white.
ReplyDeleteLove the bathroom, it's all coming together nicely.
Sarah
Its looking great - all starting to come together! I am really enjoying seeing another Laguna being built, and its so fun to see the different choices etc :)
ReplyDeleteThe feature tiles look really lovely. I like the way you have laid out the ensuite too - very different to the original plan!
Good luck for the next few weeks!

ReplyDeleteAlso love your feature tiles, gorgeous.
All coming along nicely :-)
