Approved!

It is official! We got approval! Our DA has not been pulled to be reviewed at a council meeting so the approval decision is locked down.

The council has sent the development consent letter. Next week I hope Metricon will work hard to produce the final drawings. Hopefully these drawings won't have errors...

A few changes to the drawings needs to be implemented:
  • Addition of a dropped edge beam at the rear of the house (council request)
  • Change in a bulkhead size (our request)
  • Addition a bath in the ensuite and relocation of the shower (our request)
  • Correction of the niche outside the main bathroom (they got that one wrong twice already - hopefully they can get it right this time)
  • Change position of some garden tap and gas point.
It is a huge relief to know we can now move forward!

  4. Thanks everyone for your 'congrat' messages. Now it is the race to get all in place to start construction (certificate, final drawings, bank approval). We got charged 0.5% of contract price by Metricon to extend our contract expiry date till 15 January. Not sure if everything would be complete by then because of the xmas break...
