He found no major issues although there are a few things that require some attention from our SS. Most of this appear to be incomplete work, at this stage.
For us it was also an occasion to have a good look inside the house and take many photos! I tried to take a shot of each wall to document were are the studs, electrical cables and other pipes. It might be handy in the future, who knows.
Here is where we are at now:
On the outside:
Cladding has started and is completed except on the Northern elevation and for a small bit on the façade. It is not painted yet.
Cladding on the Southern wall
Southern wall again, near the front of the house. That pipe is for the air-conditioning system. I hope it will or can be painted as it does stand out a bit too much against the brickwork
The outdoor room roof has been completed. It is nice to see it gets plenty of sun in winter (North facing)
This will be the electrical meter box.
Pipes for the air-conditioning system
The stairs coming out of the laundry. We will be planting Bamboo along the fence here as the neighbour does not want us to peer in their house from these stairs.
On the inside:
The upstairs leisure room/rumpus. That window provides ample light.
We should have a plywood here to mount a television later. Does not appear to be there... I will to check this with our SS.
That's our staircase for the time being.
Air-conditioning ducts.
What has the electrician done with these cables? Looks like spaghetti.
Network cables. We opted to have one for each bedroom, the study and for each television point
These are the ducts I supplied for my DraftStoppa fans. Apparently the electrician left the fans on site. Of course they all disappeared but they said they will order new ones. Nice to see they acknowledge their mistake even for an item that is not in the contract!
One window has a large gap between the frame and the brickwork. Apparently this is incomplete work and will be sealed later.
The view from the balcony looking South. Unfortunately we will have to screen this part after handover as requested by the council (it overlooks the neighbour's house and patio)
Looking at the street from the balcony.
